Loup Garou
Voodoo Garden, House of Blues ~ New Orleans
Materials: cypress wood, paint
Also found in the New Orleans House of Blues, Loup Garou,
the devil dog of spiritualist tradition and cajun folklore, is carved from
cypress wood with gar fish scales for teeth. The snakes represent
Danbhalah Wedo Ye-H-We, or the belief that the hiss of the snakes
is the origin of the language of voodoo.
