Looking slightly out of place among the swampy, electric reptiles and

bottlecap-garnished paintings, standing four feet high and weighing in

at about 100 pounds, the sculpture looks like an African tribal statue

crossed with a Polynesian tiki and an Easter Island head.

Dr. Bob carved it from an old post of hardwood pine.

The grain of the wood swirls like contour lines around the swollen head.

'This piece here just came out,' he says, rubbing a smooth arm of the tiki.

'I don't know what happened.'
